- Your files travel straight between Google and your browser. They never touch a server of ours, because we don’t have any.
- Processing runs on your device, exactly as it does with a file from your computer.
- The app can only access the files you pick and the ones it saves to your Drive. Never the rest.

How to use “Change Audio Speed”
- Add the audio files you want to speed up or slow down.
- Choose the mode: “Independent” keeps the pitch; “Classic” changes speed and pitch together.
- Set the speed (and the semitones if you like) and click “Listen 10 s” to check it.
- Choose MP3 or WAV, click “Change speed and pitch” and download the audio with its new duration.
Two ways to change the speed
Classic mode resamples the audio, just like spinning a vinyl record faster or slower: speeding up raises the pitch (the nightcore or “chipmunk” effect) and slowing down lowers it (slowed, chopped & screwed); it adds no artifacts. Independent mode uses time-stretching: it changes the duration without changing the pitch, ideal for listening to podcasts and lectures at 1.25× or 1.5×, and it can shift the pitch up or down by up to 12 semitones without altering the tempo. For music it uses a phase vocoder that protects the hits and keeps the stereo image; for a single spoken voice you can choose WSOLA. With very large changes a slight echo or vibrato may be audible: that is the limit of any time-stretching.
Are my files uploaded?
No. ShiftAny Audio processes your audio directly on your device: this tool runs in your browser and never sends your files to any server.
Limits and metadata
ShiftAny sets no duration or size limits: the real ceiling is your device’s memory, because the audio is decompressed to be processed and an hour of stereo takes more than 1 GB. With very long files, we warn you before loading them. The new file contains only the audio: tags (title, artist, cover art) are not copied.
Frequently asked questions
How do I speed up audio without the voice sounding high-pitched?
Use “Independent” mode and raise the speed: the pitch is kept. For speech, 1.25× to 1.5× is still very intelligible.
How do I make a “slowed” or nightcore version?
Choose “Classic” mode. Below 1× the audio slows down and drops in pitch (slowed, chopped & screwed); above 1× it rises (nightcore).
How long will the resulting audio be?
The original duration divided by the speed: a 10-minute file at 1.25× lasts 8 minutes. The tool works it out before processing.
How is this different from “Change Pitch”?
It is the same tool with a different starting point: here you begin with the speed. “Change Pitch” opens straight on the semitone control, with the speed at 1×.
