How to use “Audio Converter”

  1. Select audio files in any supported format: you can mix MP3, FLAC and M4A in the same batch.
  2. Choose MP3 or WAV and, for MP3, the quality in kbps.
  3. Click “Convert to MP3” (or “Convert to WAV”).
  4. Download each converted file, or all of them together in a ZIP.

Input and output formats

You can add MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, M4A and AAC files, as long as your browser can decode them. The output is MP3 (small, lossy) or WAV (uncompressed, no loss compared with the decoded audio). Each file is converted on its own, and one failure does not stop the rest.

Are my files uploaded?

No. ShiftAny Audio processes your audio directly on your device: this tool runs in your browser and never sends your files to any server.

Limits and metadata

ShiftAny sets no duration or size limits: the real ceiling is your device’s memory, because the audio is decompressed to be processed and an hour of stereo takes more than 1 GB. With very long files, we warn you before loading them. The new file contains only the audio: tags (title, artist, cover art) are not copied.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert to FLAC, OGG or M4A?

This converter saves to MP3 or WAV. For FLAC, use “WAV to FLAC” (lossless). OGG and M4A are only accepted as input files.

Why won’t my OGG or M4A file open?

Decoding is done by your browser. Some browsers (especially older versions of Safari) cannot read OGG; if that happens, try Chrome, Edge or Firefox. DRM-protected M4A files cannot be read either.

How is this different from “Video to MP3”?

This converter takes audio files. If what you have is a video (MP4, WebM or MOV), “Video to MP3” extracts its soundtrack and discards the picture.
