- Your files travel straight between Google and your browser. They never touch a server of ours, because we don’t have any.
- Processing runs on your device, exactly as it does with a file from your computer.
- The app can only access the files you pick and the ones it saves to your Drive. Never the rest.
- Access expires after one hour and is never stored. This browser only remembers your name and email so you can reconnect in one click; you can disconnect at any time.

How to use “Video to MP3”
- Select one or more videos (MP4, WebM or MOV).
- Decide whether you want the sound as MP3 or WAV and, for MP3, at how many kbps.
- Click “Convert to MP3” to separate the sound from the picture.
- Download the audio; with several videos, all of them together in a ZIP.
What is extracted from the video
Your browser decodes the video’s audio track (usually AAC in MP4 and MOV, Opus or Vorbis in WebM) and the tool saves it as MP3 or WAV. The picture is discarded. The whole video is read into memory, so very long or 4K recordings can run out of memory; if that happens, trim the video first or try on a computer.
Are my files uploaded?
No. ShiftAny Audio processes your audio directly on your device: this tool runs in your browser and never sends your files to any server.
Limits and metadata
ShiftAny sets no duration or size limits: the real ceiling is your device’s memory, because the audio is decompressed to be processed and an hour of stereo takes more than 1 GB. With very long files, we warn you before loading them. The new file contains only the audio: tags (title, artist, cover art) are not copied.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my video give an error?
It may have no audio track, use a codec your browser cannot decode (some MOV files with PCM or ALAC audio, or DRM-protected videos) or be too large for the available memory. Try Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
What quality will the MP3 have?
The one you choose (64 to 320 kbps). Most videos carry AAC audio at 128–256 kbps: choosing more than that does not improve the sound, it only makes the file bigger.
How is this different from “Audio Converter”?
“Audio Converter” takes sound files (MP3, FLAC, M4A…). This tool takes videos and keeps only their audio track.
