  • Your files travel straight between Google and your browser. They never touch a server of ours, because we don’t have any.
  • Processing runs on your device, exactly as it does with a file from your computer.
  • The app can only access the files you pick and the ones it saves to your Drive. Never the rest.
  • Access expires after one hour and is never stored. This browser only remembers your name and email so you can reconnect in one click; you can disconnect at any time.

How to use “FLAC to WAV”

  1. Add the FLAC files you want to turn into WAV: you can drop several at once.
  2. Check in the settings how much space the WAV will take: usually twice the FLAC.
  3. Click “Convert to WAV” and wait while each FLAC is processed.
  4. Download each WAV on its own, or all your converted FLAC files in a ZIP.

From FLAC to WAV: what to expect

FLAC is lossless compression: once turned into WAV the audio is identical, just uncompressed. The WAV usually takes up much more space than the original FLAC, but every editor accepts it.

Are my files uploaded?

No. ShiftAny Audio processes your audio directly on your device: this tool runs in your browser and never sends your files to any server.

Limits and metadata

ShiftAny sets no duration or size limits: the real ceiling is your device’s memory, because the audio is decompressed to be processed and an hour of stereo takes more than 1 GB. With very long files, we warn you before loading them. The new file contains only the audio: tags (title, artist, cover art) are not copied.

Frequently asked questions

Is quality lost from FLAC to WAV?

No. Both formats are lossless; the audio content is the same. The WAV is saved at 16 bits per sample.

What happens with 24-bit FLAC?

It is read correctly, but the output WAV is 16-bit, so the resolution is reduced from 24 to 16 bits.

How is this different from “WAV to FLAC”?

It is the opposite direction: “WAV to FLAC” compresses without loss to save space; this tool decompresses the FLAC so any program can open it.
